Warrior Dash & Chocolate Cake

Yes, I know. Not the most "fashionable" thing to wear, but it was a mud run, so I wore clothes I didn't care about!

Today, I ran and finished the Warrior Dash. It is a crazy 3.5 mile mud run/obstacle course. It was super fun, although the mud smelled more like manure and my body is aching. In the song, "Everybody's Free (to Wear Sunscreen)" by Baz Luhrman, it says, "Do something everyday that scares you." When I came up to a 25ft wall, climbed up AND down it, I did just that! I am officially a Warrior!

When I got home, I showered, did my nails, then ate some delicious cake and watched the last episode of "The Kennedy's" (which I thought was AMAZING).

I made this cake last night and it is YUMMY! I got the recipe from Oh She Glows. Hope everyone had a great weekend! Outfit post tomorrow, PROMISE!

Rabid Beavers

These shots were taken in a park in Northeast Philadelphia, Pennypack Park. At the time, although my photographer, Stephanie Baur and I did not know this, there were rabid beavers roaming around and biting people! Needless to say, we are rather lucky not to be victims! I guess no more pictures at the park for a while (insert sad face here).

In this picture I would much rather have worn sandals, but I had just gotten off of work and Steph asked if I wanted to take some shots. It was hot that day, as it has been for it seems weeks here in Philadelphia, and I tend to gravitate towards dresses.

Happy Birthday Dad!

Happy Birthday Dad! You would have been 56 today. We love and miss you very much!

Salut!

Hello everyone! I am super excited to get this blog up and going! I have been wanting to do one for a while now after oohhing and aaahhing on other Fashion Bloggers pages. Then one day I thought, "Hey, I can do that!" And here we are. It had taken me weeks to think of a name, and with a lot of help from friends and family, I have decided to call it, "outskirts of the city." In this blog, I hope to share my interest in fashion and possibly some other topics with you all.

These pictures are taken from my Mac. This was just before I went to a BBQ at my wonderful friends Walt and Stacy's house. I love going to their house because Walt's mom always makes the best food! It was hot that day, so this light dress did the trick! I love the colors/patterns on this dress a lot and will easily be a summer staple in my wardrobe!
